Chain earrings with amethyst

Sometimes your creation has its own plans that are different from your. And yes, I can say the same about my jewelry projects.
These lovely delicate earrings were intended to be a dangle to my hoop earrings. But when I assembled them and tried with hoops, I saw that they looks much better separately, as an individual piece of jewelry.

The focal copper element with etched pattern is domed and framed in wire-wrapping  technique.
Large clear amethyst beads are accompanied by small ones, creating a harmonious combination of oxidized copper and purple stones.
Exquisite, delicate and light these dangling earring would be perfect for many occasions and different styles.
They would find their place in boho look, or with a cocktail dress, or even with a casual outfit, for example, with jeans.

As usual, I used handmade sterling silver earwires.

Autumn boho earrings

As autumn came, it brought some special mood with it.
A bitter-sweet mix of warmth, and freshness, happiness and melancholy, cosy things and 'warm' fragrances - delicate smells of dry leaves, coffee and chokolate milk, cinnamon and ginger.
And, of course, I would like to add some warmth to these fall days by my jewelry. Copper is very cosy by itself and gives that feeling of warmth which is so needed in these cool days. Accompanied by bright colors of natural gems this jewelry creates super mood - happiness, freedom and comfort inside.

Pine metalwork earrings

Hello, everybody!
I want to show you new earrings which were created in collaboration with my younger brother.

Once I've bought very cute copper fircones and looked at them thinking of design. I had some ideas but they were not amazing, so I was waiting till I'd get better one )

And one day I showed these fircones to my younger brother, asking him if he has any idea. Yes, he had! He described me what he was thinking about and I started to work!

I've made graduated pins. They were just looking like a pile of ordinary pins and this made me laughing: instead of gorgious peace of jewelry I've produced a pile of pins!

But in fact that was a rather long job, as all pins - one by one - had to be gradually cut, hammered and rounded.

The next step was creating patina of needed color. And hat was a very respronsible moment, as usually I use other substances and get other colors. That was the first time for me, and I wanted my Designer to be fully satisfied with the result. So I was a bit nervous.
The process of greening looked like this:

It took longer time than I expected - the whole day for greening and night for drying. But in the morning I was happy as the color was perfect!

The next rutine was sealing the patina with varnish - every and each needle was covered twice.
And finally I could assemble the earrings! A bit of wire-wrapping - and here they are!

I've got wonderful unusual earrings and I'm happy that my Designer is also happy ))))
The earrings appeared to be very stylish, and I guess, boho and hippie style lovers would like them as I do )

As one my friend said these earrings have New Year's mood. But I'm sure that they are good for any season.

Hello, my Friends!

I'm happy that my creative activity increased recently and I have different interesting things to show to you.
There is a tribal mini-collection in copper and brass, my special hoop earrings in different designs - several are ready, others are waiting for assembling.
But today I want to show you my todays favorite piece of jewelry.

It started from assembling idea which I used several years ago for one cute necklace made of polymer clay. And I thought about how to use it for my metal work. And finally decided!

I started from making several round blanks, domed them and covered with my favorite royal blue patina - you know how I love it!

Here they are!

They were waiting rather long, as I started many projects at the same time. I always do this way. I usually make many blanks which I process and assemble one by one. Maybe not so productive, but that's my style )))

Finally I came to these circles and connected them using some hand forged 'horseshoes'. I've got a very cute necklace and wanted to stop. But suddenly I've seen an image in my mind! A tassel!
I was in a doubt for several hours and then I set to work.
A tassel made of copper chains and several amazonite beads - and - yippie! - it's done!

A pair of plain earrings in order not to overload the general look and here it is - a beautiful and gorgious boho jewelry set:

Handmade layering bracelets with garnet and labradorites

Hello, my dears!

I've just noticed that I haven't posted here almost for a half a year.
It was a very difficult period for me as I've lost my mom and been learning to live with this.
Of course, it wasn't a fruitful time for my creative work, but I'm back and I'm trying to make new beautiful pieces of jewelry.
New rings and earrings in a Bohemian and tribal styles are already available in my Etsy shop. And even more in process. There's also a beautiful royal necklace with my favourite blue patina which is waiting for a good foto. And many-many new ideas - God, please, give me more power so I could realize them into new boho jewelry.

And while I'm creating new lovely earrings, I want to show you two old bracelets, which are already found their beautiful owner.
The first one is an exquisite bracelet with a rough garnet bead.

The hook clasp is hand made of copper sheet by etching an oriental paisley pattern. And the general shape of the clasp resembles a flower.

The link on the another side also has floral motif and is made by wire-wrapping technique with small garnet beads.

And the second one is a set of two layering bracelets which can be worn also separately.

Shiny labladorites with blue iridiscence and handmade vintage brass links look good together, don't they?

Fold formed copper earrings - part two

Hello!

Today I'd like to show you the second part of earrings with fold formed details made earlier.
The first earrings like spring flowers - with bright contrasting colours and wavy folded copper drops which resemble flower petals. Gentle translucent yellowish green jade with a cluster of red coral beads make these earrings so eye-catching!

The second pair - dangling earrings with citrin and garnets - very beautiful combination with antique copper.
At the beginning I've made teardrop shaped copper details with two folds and hammering. But when I finished, I decided to change the shape and cut off a part, added a wire bow and gems: citrin Hawaii chips and a bunch of small garnet saucers.

And the third pair.
Rectangular copper detail with lengthwise and cross folds of different character. I guess, at the moment these fold formed details are my favorite!

I planned to combine them with rough garnet beads, and was waiting for the parcel. I expected to get a thread with mix sized beads and to use some of them for earrings, other for bracelets and necklaces. But all the beads appeared to be too large and heavy for earrings. So I had to select other beads. I chose also garnets but in the shape of leaves and connected them with copper chain.

By the way, the bracelet with a rough garnet bead is already on Etsy!

Earrings with blue patina

Hello, my friend!
And here I am with new earrings with my favourite blue patina.
I showed you details that I made of copper and created a fabulous textured patina of different shades of blue. Indeed, photos can't reflect oll the beauty of this patina!
Unfortunately, one pair of details was spoiled by my baby-son.
But two others became splendid dangling earrings in Bohemian style. I hope they will find their beautiful owner and will bring my joy to her ) Both are available in my Etsy shop.

The first set of earrings. Here I used domed rhombus copper details. I wanted so much to use these bright blue amazonite beads. But when I put them together with copper details, I saw that I need something else. Something to add movement and space. I recalled that I've got beautiful jumpring links made of twisted copper wire and - Hey Presto! - the earrings are ready!

The second set of earings. Here I used details in the shape of crescent moon. I also domed them a bit and oxidized to get blue patina. In the beginning I made a wrapping without loops for dangles but the earrings demanded for some additions. I thought what to add - gems or glass beads, how many and so on. And my brother told me just one word: chains! Sure!!!! Of course, I had to re-make the wrapping, but now it was clear what to do :-)
In the end of chains I added small green-blue azurite beads which suit so good to this patina.
Back side is well polished and covered with valnish to protect shiny copper.

I love both these patina sets, so, I guess, there will be definitely new jewelry in this technique!

Bracelets set with carnelian

Hurray!
It took too much time as I started several projects simultaniously, but finally I've finished!
Here I showed beautiful honey carnelian beads which I received in the parcel.
As I planned I've combined these beads with copper and brass beads and details into bracelet. Oops! I've got two bracelets! Smaller carnelian beads for the second bracelet came a bit later in another parcel.
And I hardly stopped as I was going to start making the third one!!! )
I decided that these bracelets should be a set as they accompany each other very well, don't they?
The set is available in my Etsy shop.

I discovered that mix metal jewelry can be harmonious and elegant. So here you can see both copper and brass.
Hammered brass link is hand made, so are jumprings and a hook clasp.
Other materials which I used: leather and ceramic beads in one bracelet; copper chain, wooden, bone beads, hypersthene bead and a copper lobster clasp in another one.
At the moment the bracelets are 21.5 cm long, but can be reduced.

The next bracelet project - bracelets set with labradorite beads, and I have couple of ideas, so need to choose now which one will be realized )

My Lucky Shop

Hello, my dears!

Dividing Web

I don't know if you face such a problem, but I usually can't divide a circle into several equal parts.
Sure, I divide, but they are not as perfect as I wish )
And a couple of days ago destiny (or Pinterest - to be exact) sent me such a useful thing - dividing web. This is a circle with rays which show accurate shares of the circle, so you can easily divide you item into equal two, three, four, five etc. parts.
I was (and am) happy! And I've already got a small idea for earrings where I can use my new acquisition )

Hammered hoop earrings

More than a week we have rainy and foggy weather, so everythung is wet and gray. Thus, I can't go outsider and make beautiful new fotos for my Etsy shop.
And also there's so many to do that I have no time for making new jewelry.
It's already 3 weeks that I want to make a bracelet with carnelian beads - shame on me! I've already made necessary brass details, so just need to connect. Hope to do this soon.
And also thinking about several new ideas and tutorials.

And while there's a little mess in my life, I propose you to look at my hoop earrings with gemstones dangles.
Both sets have hammered texture, but the kind of the texture is different - dots on the one set and criss-cross lines on another.
Blue gems is amasonite - the color of spring sky.
On the second earrings you can see amethist (birthstone of February) and clear translusent quartz.
Although hammering gives some wild character and a touch of boldness, tender dangles with gemstones make the total look very elegant. And this combination makes the earrings be suitable for different styles. I can imagine them on a romantic girl or boho woman, they could be good with jeans or country style.

Fold formed earrings

Hello, everybody!

If you remember, here I showed you some fold formed copper details which I made for earrings.
And now you can see my small report about final products )
Soon they will be available on Etsy.
The first one - copper detail accompanied by lapis lazuli, black agate  and unknown yellow heart beads )
Sterling silver earwires are made by me to protect ears from allergy.
Only when I've already madethese earrings I noticed that they resemble Ukrainian flag - both the shape of the copper detail and colors of the beads ) Such patriotic earrings!

The second set. Here triangular copper details combined with chrysoprase teardrops and snall accent carnelian beads. Chrysoprase is a very beautiful translucent gemstone. It's very deep and noble.
Chrysoprase is considered to be a symbol of health and success, as a talismal for innovators and those people who seeks for renovation. This gem is appreciated as a protection from energetic vampires.
Also our ancestorsuse chrysoprase for medical purposes. It helps to clarify blood, release from pain at rheumatism and migraines. In India this mineral was used for betterment of heart activity, reduction of blood pressure.
I just love this beautiful combination of oxidized copper and deep green translusent color.

And the third set.
Long copper fold formed rectangular detail with green-blue chrysocolla and garnet beads.
Crysocolla is a women's mineral. Its very useful for physical health and influences endocrine system, it helps against women's and nervious deseases.
But also there's an opinion that chrysocolla develops women's instincts and maternal origin, it makes women to be more attractive for men, more womanly and sensitive.

Valentines gifts

This year I'm not prepared very well for Valentine's day.
My Valentine's season started too late, but I'm not very distressed with it.
Although I don't have many items with hearts which are traditional for this day, I have other beautiful jewelry which would be a lovely gift for many girls - romantic and tender, bold and creative.
But in this post I'd like to show you my "heart" earrings.

The first pair are bright earrings with turquoise blue magnesite hearts. I love this beautiful combination of shiny copper and bright turquoise blue color.
Here I used beautiful and qualitative Israeli copper circle links.
I've added couple of wire wrapped elements to the heart beads to make an additional accent on this contrast.

Other two earring sets are made as per one principle - ceramic donut beads in pastel colors, decorated with etched poppy caps made as per tutorial of Keirsten Giles. Dangling irridiscent copper hearts look so nice with these colors and add mobility and lightness to the general look. Very tender and romantic!

Statement rings

Frankly speaking, I don't love wearing rings. But...
As people say: there's no women which don't like skirts. There are women who didn't find their cut of a skirt. So, I can say the same for rings! I found out that I love these big textured copper rings!
They are so warm and smooth, that I'm ready to keep them in my hands for hours )
Here are my first 4 rings in different shapes and techniques.

All rings are adjustable and fit to different finger sizes. Mine is 5.5.

Copper findings with gorgious patina

Hi, dears!
Today I finished details with blue and turquoise patina for new earrings.
I cut out details from copper sheet, processed them with different files and steel wool and then put for oxidizing during the whole night.
In the morning I found this beautiful royal blue and turquoise patina. It's not smooth, but like little sparkling crystals - very beautiful! Like a little Universe.

Now thinking about beautiful combination with gems in order to emphasize this beauty.

Fold formed details

Here is my small report regarding processing of copper blanks I showed before.
As I already told, at the moment I'm crazy about fold forming technique, so I prepared fold formed details for several sets of earrings.

They are already oxidized and polished and are waiting to be connected with gem dangles.
I will definitely use deep green chrisoprase teardrops, pink quartz pebbles that looks so good with copper, and also want to use garnet, but still waiting for parcel with beautiful rough garnet beads.

My first metalwork on Etsy

Hi!

While I'm working on new jewelry, I'd like to show ready once, which are already available on Etsy.
Most of jewelry I do and plan to do either fully made of copper or brass or contain handmade copper or brass details.
Here I textured brass and copper sheet.
Hummered brass trapeze is embellished with small malachite and coral beads.

And copper shield is combined with ebony wood - one of the most precious kinds of wood.

Another pair of earrings also contain black wood bead. And copper details are fold formed. This technique fully seized my mind, so I'm prepairing fold formed earrings and rings and thinking of set of сuff bracelets.

In below earrings in African style copper plays only supporting role. And the prima is ebony wood sticks.

Since times of Ancient Egypt ebony wood considers to be treasure along with ivory and gold. This wood is very dence and hard and after polishing it attains beautiful shine. It can be totally black or brownish, or striped. They believe that black wood has rejuvinating, magical and mystical properties.

Plans for near future

My family left me for several days. So now only me and my little son, and,,,, copper!
As some kinds of works I can't do in the presence of a baby as they can be dangerous, I prepared many copper and brass blanks for processing.

I just cut them out. So it's so much work yet to do: grinding, texturing, oxidizing, polishing and coating... And, of course, assembling.
They will become several pairs of earrings and several rings.
I plan using different technics including mix metal and mix technics to get interesting look.

And also I've got a parcel with beautiful honey carnelian beads, and I want to make one or two bracelets and a set of earrings with mix metal - brass links, copper beads and wire. But I haven't decide yet the final design - thinking in progress )
